I hate celebrating my birthday nowadays. So to avoid that, a good friend scored me two tickets to the McDonald’s High School All-American Game, featuring soon-to-be Mr. Basketball and Hoosier Great Yogi Ferrell. My tickets were ridiculously good, right behind Jay Williams announcing at midcourt. Incredible experience. Saw some missed dunks, some incredible displays of athleticism, a player glare at a fan who slapped his ass when he was hustling for a loose ball near the sidelines, Alonzo Mourning, and the worst DJ show in the history of halftime shows. Yogi is better than advertised, quick, great height on his shot, sees the whole floor, plays hard, and he cares, even in an all star game. Some assorted pictures of our boy and some future NBA millionaires.
Yogi being blazing fast. Yogi jump shot. Yogi leading the team. Yogi cared more than anyone else there about good basketball. Yogi free throw. Shabazz. Purvis. Harris. Dunk.
